Two murder trials begin in Allen County Tuesday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Trials for two men, each accused of fatally shooting women in Allen County, began Tuesday.

Nathaniel Martin, 20, accused of killing 20-year-old Ayania Starr Coker in 2021, and Corby Lee, 42, accused of fatally shooting 40-year-old Alisa Marie True in September, each face a murder charge. Martin faces an additional charge of assisting a criminal and Lee faces an enhancement for using a gun when he allegedly killed True.

Martin faces up to 71 years in prison if convicted, while Lee faces a potential 85-year sentence.

Coker was shot while driving down Euclid Avenue and died from her injuries at a local hospital. Lee allegedly admitted to shooting True while angry and high on meth after calling 911 to report True’s injuries.

Lee’s trial is set to end Thursday while Martin’s trial is scheduled to end Friday.
