SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Notre Dame moved up one spot to No. 3, while Indiana stayed at No. 6 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 college football poll released Sunday.

The Fighting Irish, previously No. 4, moved up after defeating No. 1 Miami.

Indiana did not move in the poll after having a bye week. The Hoosiers are the only team to remain in the same spot they held a week ago in the Top 25.

The AP poll is separate from the College Football Playoff rankings, which are used to determine which teams will make the playoff. The latest CFP rankings will be released Tuesday night.

Notre Dame is currently No. 11 in the CFP rankings, while Indiana is No. 4. Notre Dame is all but likely to move up after beating the top-ranked team.

Georgia returns to No. 1

With Miami becoming the fourth No. 1 team to fall from the top spot in the AP poll this season, Georgia moved back to No. 1 after falling out of the top spot a few weeks ago.

Oregon and SMU returned to the poll as this week’s newcomers. Missouri and Florida dropped out after losses.
