Town of Huntertown and Huntertown Family Park set to dedicate Veterans Memorial

HUNTERTOWN, Ind. (WPTA) - The Town of Huntertown and the Friends of Huntertown Parks announced the dedication of a new Veterans Memorial at the Huntertown Family Park.

They said in a press release that the memorial reflects a partnership rooted in community pride, shared commitment, and lasting appreciation for veterans.

The dedication ceremony, which is set for Nov. 11 at 5 p.m., will welcome community members, local leaders, veterans, and their families to recognize the sacrifices made by those who have served.

“The Town of Huntertown is especially grateful for our partnership with the local Huntertown Family Park, which has provided a meaningful place for this memorial to stand,” said Pat Freck, Town Council Member. “The Veterans Memorial will be a place where families, residents, and visitors can pause to remember those Huntertown community members who served.”

Sherry Myers, President of Friends of Huntertown Family Parks, Inc., added, “Friends of Huntertown Family Parks Inc. and the Town of Huntertown have come together for a common goal: celebrating our hometown heroes. This has been a project in the works for years. Our partnership has allowed us to see this project come to life. The (Huntertown Family) Park was a perfect location, as many community events and people gather there. We are so thrilled to be able to honor our veterans in this way.”
