FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The Greek Fest dancers are looking for ways to stay cool and perform during the heat wave.

The Triada Greek Dance group has been performing at Fort Wayne’s annual Greek Fest for years, and have seen many types of weather.

This year, the dancers are facing a difficult challenge with the massive heat wave.

Dance director, Stella Skembos says the dancers have been preparing for the heat for weeks, and have been urged to stay hydrated and cool in between performances.

Dancers also have cooling towels, popsicles, plenty of water, and breaks in air conditioning to ensure they are staying safe while in the layered clothing.

Longtime Greek Fest dancer Sia Panagopoulos has been dancing with the group since she was in kindergarten, and says it is always something she looks forward to as a way to show her culture.

She added it is hard to be bothered by the heat, when they are so excited by the joy from the audience.

If you want to catch a show from the dancers, they will be performing at 12:30, 6:00, and 8:30 pm Thursday-Saturday and 2pm on Sunday.
