Dozens gather to discuss concerns on Google data center in Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - With Fort Wayne’s growing data center presence, Protect Allen County held a community gathering Sunday afternoon for residents to voice their opinions.
About 50 people packed inside a home near the Google data center on Adams Road.
Organizers said the goal was to build a coalition for those who are worried about the negative impacts, whether they relate to air quality or energy costs, and show concerned citizens how they can advocate for each other.
The resident of the home everyone was gathered at, Barry Dibble, said traffic spiked near his house.
“I want them to check their politicians out to see how they would feel about it. Without their support, this means nothing. Our politicians need to support us and to support what’s going on and stop this nonsense.”
He added that he hopes Sunday’s gathering pushes more people to talk to local officials.
Protect Allen County plans to hold more community gatherings going forward.
