Three Northeast Indiana teams will play for football state titles, after victories from Adams Central, Bishop Luers, and Snider in the semi-state round.
East Noble started it’s playoff run with a dominating performance, beating New Haven 43-0. Bishop Dwenger defended Shields Field, defeating Wayne 21-10.
Homestead and Bishop Luers battled to the final moments of the fourth quarter, with the Spartans holding on for a 10-7 victory. Snider coasted to a 37-0 win over Wayne, while Carroll defeated North Side 51-14.
The Battle of the Bishops ended with a Luers victory this year, a 29-28 Knights win in overtime. Mickey Daring ended the night with a successful two-point conversion, after scoring the Knight’s overtime touchdown.
New Haven came away withe the win in a clash of unbeaten teams, defeating Columbia City 21-7 on Friday night. Homestead stunned Snider, beating the Panthers 23-20 in overtime.
Carroll scored a go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter, to pick up an 18-14 win at home against Warren Central. Snider picked up another impressive road victory, beating East Noble 45-28.
Snider went down south and posted an impressive win to start the season, beating Warren Central 42-20. Adams Central protected its home field, with a 42-8 victory over Garrett.
Northrop’s girls basketball team defeated Homestead 52-49 on Friday night, completing an undefeated season in SAC play.The Bruins clinched their first girls basketball conference title since 1986.
Carroll reached a big milestone on Friday night, beating Hamilton Southeastern 21-15. The victory sends the Chargers to their first state championship game in school history.
