Karli VanCleave is currently the 21Investigates Reporter and Anchor.
Karli joined WPTA fulltime in May of 2020 as a multimedia journalist. Later she went on to become the Fort Wayne's NBC Weekend Anchor and weekday reporter.
Karli grew up in Fort Wayne, where she graduated from North Side High School in 2016. Later she graduated from Indiana University Bloomington in the spring of 2020 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and minors in Spanish and International Studies.
At Indiana University she was the executive producer and reporter for IU NewsNet and the creator of the university’s very first daily newscast, the IU NewsNet Daily.
Karli joined WPTA after spending her summer’s 2018 and 2019 as a Quintern at the station. Prior to her experience at WPTA, she interned at Fort Wayne radio station WBOI and a WFBH Community Radio in Bloomington, IN.
In the spring of 2019, Karli spent a semester abroad in Seville, Spain studying journalism and Spanish. There she lived with a host family and learned how to be a reporter in a whole new country speaking a different language.
Outside of work, Karli loves to listen to music, paint watercolor and oil pieces, and spend time outdoors. She also enjoys dancing, as she grew up competing with Fort Wayne School of Dance and she was a part of a modern dance company, Windfall Dancers Inc. in college.
