Ashton Hackman

Ashton is a multimedia journalism intern for WPTA.

He will be a junior at Indiana University this coming fall, where he will serve as assistant executive director for IU Student Television (IUSTV), a completely student-run television station on IU’s Bloomington campus. He is also a reporter, anchor, and producer for the news department of IUSTV.

Ashton is a Fort Wayne native and graduated from Homestead High School in 2021 where he was a part of the school’s award-winning media program. He has received numerous awards from the Indiana Association of School Broadcasters, including being named Indiana TV News Anchor of the year in 2021, and most recently in April.

When he is not working, you can catch Ashton spending time outdoors with his dog, Yogi, golfing with family, or spending time with friends.
