Colts wide receiver Pierce teams up with Parkview for ‘My Cause My Cleats’ campaign
INDIANAPOLIS (WPTA) - Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce has teamed up with Parkview Health for a combined “Screen for Your Team” campaign, which promotes regular cancer screenings for adults.
Pierce was drafted by the Colts in 2022 and first wore the custom green-and-red cleats featuring the Parkview logo and campaign motto on Sunday, Nov. 30, against the Texans. He will wear them again this Sunday, Dec. 7, when the Colts travel to Jacksonville.
The NFL began the "My Cause My Cleats" campaign in 2016, encouraging players to support causes of their choosing through specially designed cleats.
For Pierce, teaming up with Parkview to promote cancer screenings made sense — and hits close to home.
“My mom had breast cancer back when I was in middle school,” Pierce said. “She was able to discover her breast cancer through a mammogram and that definitely helped probably save her life. I think it’s an awesome thing because it’s a way to support a really good cause, and be able to use my platform to kind of bring publicity to something that’s super important, getting cancer screenings and everything they do up there at Parkview.”
Pierce and the Colts will hit the road to face the Jaguars on Sunday at 1 p.m., where he’ll again be wearing his custom cleats.
