ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WPTA) - The Allen County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim in a fatal shooting at a Huntertown home on Wednesday morning as the suspect’s 23-year-old son.

On Thursday, the coroner identified the victim as Taurean Malik Hayden, 23, of Fort Wayne.

His death has been ruled a homicide, marking the 8th in Allen County so far this year.

The man’s father, 43-year-old Taurean Latheef Hayden, is facing a charge of murder in the case.

The Allen County Sheriff’s Department says they were called to a home off of Hand Road on Wednesday morning following reports that an armed man was “naked and walking down the street”. While there, police say Hayden allegedly admitted to shooting someone inside the home.

Court documents released on Thursday show Hayden admitted to shooting his son because he “owed him money”.

Hayden was then taken to a hospital for treatment and was later released and booked into the Allen County Jail.
