Ohio man takes plea deal in Allen County child molestation case

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A 38-year-old Ohio man has accepted a plea agreement that calls for him to serve more than two decades in prison for child molesting.
BACKGROUND: Ohio man arrested in connection to Allen County child molestation case
Cody Jenkins was charged with nine child sexual abuse charges that carried a potential sentence of more than 120 years. He is accused of molesting two girls, who said they were about 7 and 12 when the abuse began, for more than five years.
The girls told investigators the abuse escalated over time.
A plea agreement filed Friday shows that Jenkins pleaded guilty to two counts of child molestation in exchange for the remainder of his charges being dismissed. Both of the counts he pleaded guilty to are set to be sentenced as Level 1 felonies for a 25-year executed sentence.
Allen Superior Court Judge David Zent will decide whether to accept or reject the agreement during a sentencing hearing on Dec. 16.
