One airlifted, three others hurt following buggy crash in Adams County
MONROE, Ind. (WPTA) - The Adams County Sheriff’s Office says a buggy crash in rural Monroe left four people injured late Sunday night.
The crash happened just before 9 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of State Road 124 and County Road 200 East.
Sheriffs say a preliminary investigation shows that a car and a horse-drawn buggy were traveling east on State Road 1244 when the driver of the car rear-ended the buggy.
According to a release from the sheriff’s office, the buggy’s three passengers, ages 24, 2, and 10 months old, were all ejected as a result of the crash.
Authorities say the buggy’s 30-year-old driver was airlifted and the three passengers were transported by EMS to a nearby hospital. The driver of the car was uninjured.
The release notes that alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
This crash remains under investigation.
