ADAMS COUNTY, Ind. (WPTA) - All students have been evacuated from Adams Central Community Schools after an unfounded threat was emailed to dozens of school districts across the state on Monday.

District leaders shared a message on social media Monday morning, stating they and about 70 other school districts in Indiana were sent an email threat. They confirm police are now investigating the incident, although they say the threat is not considered to be specific to Adams Central.

“We feel this is just an attempt to disrupt school services; we are taking all necessary precautions,” officials wrote in their post below.

Leaders with East Allen County Schools (EACS) sent a message to parents, saying they received the threat along with Fort Wayne Community Schools (FWCS), Northwest Allen County Schools (NACS), and Southeast Allen County Schools (SACS).

They say no suspicious devices have been found in any of the impacted schools, and officials say there is “no evidence supporting the validity of these threats.”

They note similar widespread threats were reported to other Indiana districts in recent weeks, and were not found to be valid.

Last year, Indiana State Police detectives investigated a similar incident where several Indiana schools received an email about a bomb threat.

Officers say they found no evidence of explosives or suspicious devices following a search.
