FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Jaylon Smith is on the move.

The former Notre Dame and Bishop Luers star has a new NFL home. Smith has signed with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Smith’s agent posted about the move on Thursday morning.

The Raiders confirmed the news in a press release Thursday evening.

Smith started this year at the New Orleans Saints’ training camp. He was then moved to their practice squad.

The linebacker started his pro career in 2016, as a second-round draft pick of the Dallas Cowboys. Smith missed the entire 2016 season, as he recovered from a knee injury.

Smith became an impact player for the Cowboys, making the Pro Bowl in 2019.

Smith stayed with Dallas until early in the 2021 season, when the team released him. Since then he’s suited up for the Packer and Giants.

Overall, Smith has played in 87 regular season games. He’s made 69 starts and recorded 624 total tackles, with 11 sacks and two interceptions.
