FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A 33-year-old man was arrested on a charge of murder Monday for his role in a fatal shooting over the weekend, court records show.

Police were called around 6:30 Sunday morning on reports of a shooting near South Calhoun Street and Pettit Avenue, by the 4Cloud20 tobacco shop. When officers arrived, they said they found a a gunshot victim who was taken to an area hospital where they were later pronounced dead.

Court records say police interviewed a witness who said she was walking with Sean Brabson into the alley from Lenox Ave. when someone in a dark hoodie “ran up behind them.” She said they started shooting at Brabson and she ran off.

Officers spoke with another witness, who said he was with 33-year-old James Saylor that day. He said Saylor got out of the car and walked into the alley where Brabson and the woman were. Saylor is also shown on surveillance video running into the alley behind Brabson and the woman before the shooting is heard.

Police said Saylor refused to speak with officers and was then taken into custody on one count of murder.
