First Alert Forecast: Mostly cloudy Sunday. Rain possible for some
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - Sunday will feature quite a bit of cloud cover, and for some it’ll bring some rain showers as well.
A weather system located near Chicago on Sunday morning will rotate to the NE, bringing some scattered rain showers into the area. Places closer to Lake Michigan and west of Fort Wayne will likely see a bit more rain on Sunday than others. Places closer to Fort Wayne could see an isolated rain shower spring up in the late morning and early afternoon. Then, in NW Ohio, it looks to be mostly dry day.
High temperatures on Sunday will be a bit cooler than it was on Saturday with highs in the upper 60s and low 70s.
After those few showers on Sunday, dry conditions are going to set back in, and looks like the dry weather is going to last through the rest of the week. So, those in the agriculture industry, and gardeners as well, will have to keep up on watering as drought conditions worsen.
Temperatures for the first day of the work week will be in the low 70s in the afternoon, which is about 5 or so degrees below where temperatures are supposed to be. However, we’ll see a ridge of high pressure build in, which will open us up for warmer temperatures for the tail-end of the forecast. Afternoon highs Wednesday into the weekend will climb into the low 80s.
