BERNE, Ind. (WPTA) - In September of 1979, 14-year-old Lack Taing fled war-torn Cambodia, and arrived in Berne.

Taing did not speak English at the time, and had just a few articles of clothing to his name.

After worrying about simply surviving, Taing thrived in Indiana. He graduated from South Adams and set down roots in Berne.

He then got involved in the local sports scene, and now serves a few different roles for the sports teams at South Adams.
