FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The TinCaps didn’t help their cause on Thursday night, but Fort Wayne does still hold the inside track for a playoff berth this season.
Dayton’s Sal Stewart ended the night with a walk-off homer, as the Dragons beat the TinCaps 4-3.
The TinCaps took the lead in the third inning, on a solo homer from Albert Fabian. They would score two more runs in the frame to go up 3-0.
The Dragons answered back with runs in the third, fifth, and sixth innings, to tie the game up 3-3. That tie remained until Stewart’s blast in the ninth.
West Michigan also lost on Thursday night, falling to Great Lakes 5-4. The TinCaps hold a half-game lead over the Whitecaps for their division’s second half playoff spot, with three games left to paly. Dayton and Lake County trail the TinCaps by two games.
