FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - After one of the best seasons in program history, Wayne will need to find a new leader for it’s boys basketball team.
Friday, head coach Byron Pickens announced his decision to leave his role. He shared the following message on social media.
Pickens took the Wayne head coaching job back in 2019, after serving as an assistant coach under Rod Chamble at Northrop.
After three sub-.500 seasons, Pickens turned the Generals into a winning team in 2022-23. The Generals won 21 games last season, earning SAC, sectional, and regional titles.
