TinCaps fall to South Bend in first game of final homestand

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The TinCaps push for the playoffs took a hit on Tuesday night, with an 8-3 loss against South Bend.

Chicago Cubs prospect Brennen Davis with 2-for-5 for South Bend, with a double and home run.

Nerwilian Cedeño hit a solo homer for the TinCaps.

After Tuesday’s loss, the TinCaps have fallen to third in the Midwest League East second half standings, 2.5 games behind division-leading West Michigan.

Fort Wayne will host five more games against the Cubs this week, in the final homestand of the 2023 regular season.
