TinCaps drop series opener to Loons after departures to Double-A

MIDLAND, Mich. (WPTA) - The TinCaps fell in their series opener at Great Lakes, 5-2.
Kervin Pichardo hit a solo homer for Fort Wayne in the loss.
The defeat comes after Fort Wayne’s latest wave of player losses to the Double-A level. San Diego moved Ethan Salas, Robby Snelling, Nathan Martorella, Graham Pauley, and Jakob Marsee to San Antonio.
The TinCaps currently trail West Michigan by 2.5 games in the chase for the Midwest League East’s second half playoff spot.
