FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Temperatures are on the upswing after yesterday’s brief cooldown.

Sunny skies stick with us today as temperatures make it back into the lower 70s by the late afternoon. Expect a northeast breeze 10-15 mph.

The holiday weekend will keep warming up until we eventually hit the 80s by Memorial Day. Next week will be hot as temperatures near 90-degrees. Our first shot at any rain showers could come by the end of next workweek, with the potential for some pop-up showers and thunderstorms to develop thanks to this summer-like weather setup.

Today: Mostly sunny; High 72; Wind NE 10-15

Tonight: Mainly clear; Low 47; Wind E 5-10
