FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The popular late spring event, Germanfest, is returning to the Summit City in the coming weeks.

Organizers say the festival is set to return to downtown Fort Wayne on Saturday, June 3, with citywide events. The main event will be held at the Headwaters Park Pavilion on Wednesday, June 7, at 11 a.m.

They say a new pre-festival event, Germanfest Schwarzbier Abend, will be held at Pedal City on W Main Street on Saturday, May 20, at 3 p.m. Officials say children are welcome to attend that event.

Officials say the event includes tapping the first Chapman’s Germanfest Schwarzbier keg.

Other activities include the Stein Host (The Judge Scheibenberger Masskrugstemmen Kontest), a cup race (Tassenrennen), and a German Spelling Bee. Food will also be available at the pre-festival event.

Germanfest 2023 is from June 3 until June 11. For more information and the schedule for the fest, visit their website.
