The Hair Department: Updo Styles

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - This week, Let’s hit some do’s and don’ts about updo appointments with Abby West.

DO show up with clean hair. It is a common myth that dirty hair holds style better: that is an absolute myth! Dirty hair is simply dirty hair and instead your stylist is going to have to fill your hair up with so much product to counteract your natural oils.

DON’T wear tight shirts to your appointment, wear something loose or that buttons up the front.

DO show up with a couple pictures of what you want; you want to wear something that compliments your hair color, density and texture. This is guarantees that the look will best fit your hair.

DON’T stress if you feel like your hair never holds curl or style; your stylist has tricks and tips to create and to hold your style.

DO detangle and comb out any teasing/back combing in your hair before showering; otherwise, you are asking for severe tangles and possibly even matting!
