FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - After falling in Game 4 in their series against the Cyclones, the Komets got a much-needed win in Sunday’s Game 5 matchup.

After a scoreless first period, the Komets opened things up in the second with goals by Samuel Dove-McFalls and Shawn Boudrias. The Komets would take a 2-0 advantage heading into the third period.

In the third period, the Cyclones cut into the lead quickly with a Louie Caporusso goal.

Komets would respond, though, when captain Anthony Petruzzelli scored to put Fort Wayne back up a pair.

Still, the Cyclones wouldn’t go down easily. Lee Lapid scored for Cincinnati with under two minutes left, but the Komets would hold on for the 3-2 victory and extend the series back to Cincinnati.

Ryan Fanti was stellar tonight, recording 33 saves on the night.

Cyclones lead the series 3-2. Game 6 is Tuesday night in Cincinnati beginning at 7:35 p.m.
