TinCaps snap five game losing streak Saturday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - There’s really no sugar-coating it: it’s been a rough start to the season for the TinCaps. But the talented roster is looking for a chance to build some momentum.

Saturday afternoon was a perfect day for some baseball at Parkview Field. After dropping the first game of a doubleheader, TinCaps looking to bounce back in the second game.

Ryan Berget got the start on the mound for the TinCaps. He delivered five strikeouts on his afternoon.

Offensively, Fort Wayne got the job done. Nathan Martorella brought in an RBI with a base hit in the third inning. After that, Joshua Mears bombed a three-run homer to make it a 5-2 advantage for the ‘Caps.

That was all they needed to get the much-needed victory Saturday afternoon. TinCaps finish their home series against the Loons Sunday afternoon.
