FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - If you plan on doing any St. Paddy’s outdoor celebrations both today or tomorrow, grab your winter coats!

We’re waking up to mild temperatures and some rain showers early this morning. Once the rain wraps up going toward midmorning, our next cold front moves in. Temperatures will sink throughout the day, dragging us out of our official high temperatures in the low 50s from overnight and into the mid 30s by the afternoon. Wind gusts around 30-40 mph today will make wind chills drop into the 20s. The cold air plunges us into the teens tonight.

It will feel like winter this weekend. We’ll likely see some scattered flurries (mainly Saturday going into the first half of Sunday). Temperatures will top off near 28 on Saturday, but wind chills for the first half of the weekend will only be in the single digits to teens.

The pot of gold in this forecast comes in for the new workweek. Mild weather returns as temperatures go into the 40s and 50s as the official start of spring kicks off with the Spring Equinox on Monday evening.
