Mastodon women advance to Horizon League semifinals

INDIANAPOLIS (WPTA) - The Purdue Fort Wayne women’s basketball team pulled of an upset on Thursday night, beating three-seeded IUPUI 73-69 in the quarterfinal round of the Horizon League Tournament.
Audra Emmerson provided a huge offensive spark, shooting 6-of-7 from three-point territory, finishing the night with 18 points.
Amellia Bromenschenkel played all 40 minutes and also provided 18 points for the Mastodons.
The Mastodons now advance to a tournament semifinal for the first time since 2013.
Purdue Fort Wayne will take on top-seeded Green Bay on Monday at noon, at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum.
