Tell Julian: A Visit to GK Cafe & Provisions

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) -GK Baked Goods has become a household name in Fort Wayne. Now, owner Grace Kelly May has her own shop downtown.

It’s called GK Café & Provisions and it’s two concepts under one roof.

On one side, a little grocery store filled with fresh produce.

On the other-- the café, packed with delicious hand-made goods and coffee.

Grace Kelly May is a classically trained pastry chef and wanted to bring her knowledge and experience to her home community.

“So I grew up here and then I trained in Chicago. I went to culinary school and then worked my way across kitchens from MICHELIN-starred restaurants to mom and pop places,” said May.

She says fresh ingredients and good pastry techniques make all the difference.

“I think what makes us so unique is that we keep quality at the top of our mindset. We want make sure that everything is fresh. We want to make sure that we’re having products that we’re proud of out there. And we do a lot of technical stuff. Handmade everything is our motto,” said May.
