Local non-profit helps families deal with financial costs after infant loss
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A Fort Wayne mother is committed to helping other families dealing with the loss of a baby.
Delaney Baumann lost her daughter, Rowan Joy, at 27 weeks pregnant. She says a reminder of that pain was the medical bills that followed.
“It was physically painful to make the payment to bury my daughter,” said Baumann. “And that is really where our desire to step in and provide that for families, whether or not they actually needed it from a financial perspective, but the idea that no parent should have to make those payments to bury their baby was our driving factor.”
That’s when Remembering Rowan Joy began.
The non-profit focuses on helping families in Northeast Indiana who have experienced the loss of a baby by assisting with funeral costs and medical expenses.
So far, “Remembering Rowan Joy” has helped more than 300 families in our community.
