FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - As a child, having homemade biscuits might have been a staple growing up. Today, Grace Kelly from GK Baked Goods joins Tony Betton, Jr. to make this homemade classic.
- 2 sticks of butter, cold and chopped
- 2 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 4 1/4c baking flour
- 1 1/2c buttermilk
In a large bowl, combine all the dry ingredients. Using your hands or a pastry blender, blend in the cold butter until about pea-sized. Add in the buttermilk and work the mixture until a dough forms. On a floured surface, roll out the biscuit dough to 1″ thickness.
Using a knife or ring cutter, cut out the desired shape. Brush with egg wash and bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes or until they are golden brown. Serve with your favorite accompaniment and enjoy!
