FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A winter storm will move north during the night and reach our area early Wednesday morning. The snow will spread from south to north reaching the Fort Wayne metro by 5 AM. The snow could fall heavy at times, particularly south and east of Fort Wayne. The snow will continue throughout the day but break up to scattered snow showers by late afternoon. We still expect snow in most areas to fall in the 4–7-inch range, though areas closer to the Michigan line (such as LaGrange and Steuben counties) could see slightly lower amounts in the 3-5″ range.

It will be breezy so some blowing and drifting possible, but mainly in rural areas.

Wednesday is a FIRST ALERT DAY. A WINTER STORM WARNING is also in place from 4 AM to 8 PM tomorrow. Travel will likely be treacherous all day, so stay with 21 ALIVE as we track this winter storm.
