FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The Komets went on an impressive run during the second and third periods on Wednesday night, but still fell to visiting Kalamazoo 5-4.

The Wings scored the first four goals of the night, before the Komets got scores from Daniel Maggio and Anthony Petruzzelli in second period.

Kalamazoo added some much-needed insurance with a power play goal from Brandon Saigeon early in the third.

Goals from Matt Alvaro and Shawn Boudrias made it a one-score game with 7:39 left in regulation, but the Komets could not find a tying goal in the final minutes.

The Komets play at Wheeling on Friday night.
