Canterbury names Sharpe new boys soccer head coach

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Canterbury School has found Greg Mauch’s successor.

Thursday, the school celebrated the promotion of coach Blake Sharpe to the head coaching role.

Sharpe is a 2003 Canterbury graduate, who played for Mauch in high school. He returned to the school to join Mauch’s coaching staff in 2015.

During his playing days, Shapre earned NSCAA All-American honors twice, and he was named the IHSAA Player of the Year in 2003. He went on to become a four-year starter at South Florida.

Sharpe now has significant shoes to fill. Mauch retires from the program with 22 secitonal championships, 17 regional championships, 13 semi-state titles, and seven state titles.
