FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo posted on Facebook that they have a solution for those who want to get rid of their old Christmas lights.

The zoo announced Monday morning that they will collect and recycle any used or old holiday lights. Zoo officials say that this initiative is to prevent these lights from ending up in landfills.

Christmas light drop-off operates weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Jan. 8, and weekend operation is limited to the Wild Zoo Wonderland event from 10 a.m. to 3p.m.

Officials say that people donating their old lights can drop them off at the Guest Services building at the zoo, located at 3411 Sherman Blvd.
