FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Tuesday will first bring a mix of sun and clouds with above average temperatures ahead of gusty winds and widespread rain overnight. After starting the morning in the upper 30s to low 40s, warm air will move in from the west, helping high temperatures reach the mid 50s by late afternoon with some clearing. Winds will increase through the day, turning gusty ahead of a cold front arriving later tonight. The front will first bring scattered showers after sunset then widespread showers after midnight. Much colder air will follow behind the front, dropping temperatures Wednesday.

As temperatures fall, showers could potentially become a wintry mix into early Wednesday morning. The chance for showers or a mix will end my mid-morning as temperatures continue to fall through out the day. Highs will only reach the upper 30s early Wednesday before falling into the 20s overnight.

Have a great Tuesday!
