FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The cold weather will hang around for another day or so before weather improves for the first day of the shortened work week.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 7am on Sunday for LaGrange and Steuben counties. Lake Effect snow could cause visibility concerns and additional snow accumulations of up to two inches in some spots by Sunday morning. Fortunately, we won’t have to deal with snow for the rest of Sunday afternoon as a mostly sunny sky will prevail.

The thing we will have to deal with on Sunday is wind and cold air. Temperatures in the morning will bottom on between 10-15 degrees. With gusty winds upwards of 35 mph, the feels like temperature will be below zero for some. So, hopefully Sunday morning plans are inside.

The afternoon on Sunday won’t be much warmer. Air temperatures max out in the upper 20s with feels like temperatures in the teens.

For the first day of the work week, afternoon temperatures will get into the low 40s. Mostly sunny conditions will hang around until Wednesday as temperatures climb up into the upper 40s, low 50s by Thanksgiving.

Our next weather system looking to move through late Thursday night and linger into early Saturday.
