FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The Allen County Public Library (ACPL) has strengthened its commitment to internet accessibility by adding additional mobile hotspot devices to its collection.

In 2020, ACPL launched the program with 30 hotspots. ACPL officials say, the demand for the hotspots led to waiting lists ranging from weeks to months. The recent addition of 50 devices has alleviated long hold times, according to officials.

The majority of patrons use the Wi-Fi access for remote work, job searches, streaming entertainment, and managing finances, according to officials.

The hotspots provide unlimited data usage at no cost. Patrons can checkout a device for up to one week. You can reserve a mobile internet hotspot here.
