FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Two Fort Wayne women face neglect charges after Fort Wayne Police (FWPD) say they overdosed in their car with their children in the back seat.
According to court records, it was back in May when Marquita Muff and Jennifer Deutsch were found passed out laying outside their car at the Napa Auto Parts at the intersection of South Anthony Boulevard and Maumee Avenue.
Court documents say Deutch’s 8-year-old, and Muff’s 12-year-old were found outside the car.
The children told officers they were with their mothers and had just left a TinCaps game when they pulled into the Napa parking lot.
Medics gave both women numerous doses of Narcan at the scene. The women came through, court records say.
FWPD says a search of the car turned up a loaded handgun in a purse that was placed in the backseat where the children had been sitting.
A warrant was issued for both women on Friday.
