FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) says they are investigating after a minor was killed in a shooting Monday night at Autumn Woods Apartments.
Police say they were called to the 2100 block of Carterton Dr. just before 6 p.m. Monday. When they arrived, they say they found a minor with a gunshot wound inside an apartment there. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
A second minor was found a short time later at the same location and was arrested, FWPD says. He is cooperating in the investigation and is being preliminarily charged with reckless homicide. Because both the victim and suspect are juveniles, their names have not been released.
This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Prosecutor’s Office, and the Coroner’s Office.
