SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WPTA) - The South Bend Police Department says they are investigating after an employee at a Taco Bell there was stabbed Wednesday evening.
Officers say they were called to the restaurant just before 7 p.m. about a possible stabbing. As they were headed there, police say they saw a man that matched the suspect’s description. Police say they detained the man, identified as 34-year-old Chavis Box, as they spoke with the victim.
Detectives say the victim said Box stabbed him after a confrontation inside Taco Bell. The man was taken to the hospital in non-life-threatening condition.
Box was then taken to the St. Joseph County Jail on a charge of battery by means of a deadly weapon.
