FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A 41-year-old Fort Wayne man is facing several charges after court documents say he stabbed the woman who was pregnant with his child at least 48 times.
Court documents say on July 31, officers got a call from a woman who said she was on the phone with her cousin when she heard arguing, crying, and gasping for air. Dispatchers then got a call from the woman’s downstairs neighbor, who said he heard a woman yell for help during an argument.
When police arrived, they knocked on the door and said they heard a woman yell ‘help’. When they knocked again and announced that they were with the Fort Wayne Police Department, they said they heard the woman gasping for air so they forced their way into the home.
Officers said they got inside and found a man, later identified as Brandon K. Williams, “completely covered in blood”. Police said the woman was on the floor, yelling for help and rolling from side to side in distress. Officers noted that she was also covered in blood and appeared to be pregnant.
Documents say she was able to tell police that she was stabbed over 40 times, saying ‘please save me’ and ‘tell everyone I love them’. She said as police were knocking on her door, Williams looked her in the eyes and said “you’re gonna die this time”.
She was taken to PRMC where medics said she had been stabbed at least 48 times and had multiple fractures. Medics confirmed she was 24 weeks pregnant and identified Williams as the father of the child. The affidavit also says Williams knew she was pregnant.
Williams faces several charges including aggravated battery, domestic battery, strangulation, and intimidation.
