FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Under a federal judge’s order to clean up overcrowding and subsequent issues inside the Allen County jail, county leaders are pitching a plan to build a new jail in southeast Fort Wayne. The county owns the land, but the neighbors insist a jail will make their neighborhoods less safe and less appealing for development.
On Thursday, ABC21′s Tom Powell talked with the hosts of the “Neutral Voices Network Video Podcast” who suggested the plan to build in southeast Fort Wayne, where stigma and lack of investment have shaped negative perceptions, is an intentional plan that further marginalizes the community.
