In the Spotlight with Terra Brantley (Los Galaxy)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - Whether it was fate, or chance, that brought a young group of talented musicians together, who are now securing top opportunities to perform in Northeast Indiana. Los Galaxy, which is opening for CeeLo Green at the Three Rivers Festival Concert Saturday. The band is composed of Daniel Vaides (keyboard), Takoda Collins (tenor sax), Jonathan Jehle (bass), Ash Morris (tenor sax), David Vaides (electric guitar), and Zane Stackhouse (drums).

“We were all buskin’ in downtown, right? And all of a sudden the pieces started coming together,” Daniel Vaides said. Soon, they started playing their music around town. After a performance at the Brass Rail, an organizer with the Three Rivers Festival offered them the chance to play this year. “We’re super lucky to have that show,” Stackhouse told us. “The support is amazing,” Vaides added.

The energetic group, is the youngest to have shows at The Clyde Theatre, and TRF. “None of us actually predicted or tried to turn this band into what it is today,” Collins shared. “We were all just doing it for fun.” This weekend, they plan to play their popular funk set. July 16, they’ll also be closing out the TRF with a performance at Jazzworks! There, they’ll share some of their own music. “I’m really excited to present those to the world,” Morris said.

“Not only is our music really good, but we also put on a really great show,” Vaides told us, “and I think that’s what makes us unique, and a really good band to watch in the future.” You can keep up to date with Los Galaxy through instagram.
