One dead in Independence Day shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - One man is dead and another in critical condition after being shot several times as many others were celebrating the July 4th holiday.

Fort Wayne Police say they got to the 4700 blk. of S. Calhoun St. just before 9 p.m. and found both men inside a home. Police say one man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The other was dead on the scene.

Detectives are going door to door in the surrounding neighborhood looking for witnesses.
