FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Rain and storms will move through on Tuesday morning. For the most part, the bark will be worse than the bite. However, one or two isolated severe storms may pop-up, with damaging wind being the main threat.

This line on Tuesday morning will bring some heavy rain with it in spots as well, which could result in localized minor flooding, thanks to the dry ground.

This line will clear in the late morning on Tuesday and we’ll start to see things heat up quickly, which is why we’ve issued a FIRST ALERT weather day. High temperatures on Tuesday will be in the low to mid 90s, with heat index values in the 100-105 degree range.

Overnight into Wednesday morning, out next round of rain and storms look like they’ll move through. This round could pack less of a punch depending on if we see more or less cloud cover in the afternoon on Tuesday. However, this round also beings with it the chance for severe storms.

Wednesday, another hot day with highs near 90.

Rain and storm chances linger into Thursday and Friday. Temperatures will slide slowly into the mid 80s before dropping down into the low 80s for the weekend.

Expect very nice, summer weather for the first weekend of the Three Rivers Festival!
