FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) -The 4th of July will be hot and humid but should stay dry for most if not all of the day and night.

Temperatures will rise above 90 degrees and it will feel hotter due to the humidity. Clouds increase throughout the afternoon and evening. One or two stray showers or thunderstorms are possible late this evening as a system weakens across the area.

Tomorrow brings better chances for storms. Early on a wave of energy will pass through the area during the morning. Gusty winds and heavy rain are the primary threats with any storms that form. Later in the day as temperatures rise, another wave may arrive bringing more chances of rain late.

Unsettled weather continues this week with storms possible through Friday. We’ll have the latest on any storms coming up at 12 and 5PM on ABC21. Enjoy the 4th of July.
