Mishawaka woman dies in Wednesday crash on U.S. 30

PRAIRIE TOWNSHIP, Ind. (WPTA) - A Mishawaka woman died in a crash on U.S. 30 east of County Road 500 W in Prairie Township on Wednesday.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department says that a section of U.S. 30 is under construction with both east and westbound traffic using the westbound lanes of U.S. 30. Investigators believe 47-year-old Kathy Harmon was driving east on U.S. 30 behind a semi when a semi going west on U.S. 30 crossed the center lane, hitting the semi in front of Harmon, then hitting Harmon’s car head-on.

Police say Harmon was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is under investigation.
