FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - We’ll have one more day of “cooler” conditions before the heat returns on Monday
For Sunday, we’ll have mostly sunny skies and calm winds. The high temperature will climb into the upper 70s, low 80s. However, thanks to the lower wind speeds today, it’ll feel more like the mid 80s. Fortunately, the moist air will remain off to our south for the day.
Overnight into Monday morning, temperatures will drop down into the 50s.
For Monday, the warmer air will make its return. We’ll see high temperatures climb to 90 for the day and with only a little bit of cloud cover expected, it’ll definitely feel like a hot day.
Tuesday is a FIRST ALERT weather day. We anticipate high temperatures getting into the upper 90s. The humidity will be making a return that day, as well. So, those two combined will give us heat index values, the feels like temperature, into the lower 100s.
The heat will be hanging around until at least next weekend. Daytime temperatures will bounce around the low 90s. So, take extra precautions if you’re spending time outside this week, especially Tuesday.
