FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The City of Fort Wayne will provide assistance to homeowners trying to clean up following Monday night’s record-setting derecho.
Starting Monday, June 27, public works crews and workers contracted by the City will spread out across Waynedale and Aboite to collect debris. They will make one pass through the affected areas, so residents are advised to set refuse by the curb ahead of that date. Not all collections will happen on the 27th, as it is expected to take weeks for all homes to be reached.
Maps outlining the areas that will be targeted in Waynedale and in Aboite are posted on the City website.
Those who are able to take debris to drop-off sites are encouraged to do so.
The City’s Biosolids Facility at 6202 Lake Ave. is accepting tree branches and tree limbs from residential areas.
Republic Services is also accepting tree debris at their compost site at the landfill, 6231 MacBeth Rd.
